The last Group 12 Saloon round of the year and Bob continues to dominate the class. His pole total of 118.56 was some 2 1/2 laps ahead of Kev’s second place total of 116.00, and he was just 15 parts ahead of Charlie in third spot. Brian had a last gasp run of 38.30 to take the last spot in the A final.

A 2 man C final saw Trev and Mick going head to head. Trev got the early advantage with Mick having an off and losing nearly a lap. Mick chased hard and caught Trev on lap 21 and nudged ahead. From then on Mick had a steady drive with no more problems and gradually eased away from Trev and went on to win and take 9th overall, finishing nearly a lap and a half ahead on 36.48 to Trev’s 35.25.

The B final line up was Woody, Roger, Kevin and Chris - Roger having his best series in qualifying for a long time. Woody’s car wasn’t looking too good, probably out of tyres, and he was never in the race finishing up with a disappointing 21 laps before retiring. Chris took advantage, and although he had Blue lane he drove a decent and steady race to take the win and 5th overall. Kevin and Roger were having the best dual of the race, Roger led Kevin for 15 laps, but then his only off of the race let Kevin past. Kevin started to pull away and had two more offs in the process letting Rog catch up, but he couldn’t quite find the pace to retake second. Kevin held it together to hold on to second by .60 of a lap to take second and 6th overall and Roger’s best night for a while ended up with a good third in the race and seventh place overall.

Bob, Kev, Charlie and Brian lined up for the A. Disaster for Kev on the second lap with an off putting paid to his chances. Charlie had the early lead from Bob and Brian. Charlie’s lead was shortlived as Bob caught and past him by lap 8 and virtually disappeared into the distance. Brian was about 2 seconds behind Charlie at this point but got his head down to put in some quick laps. Brian’s lap times were fractionally quicker than Charlie’s and the pressure was starting to tell. Brian caught Charlie on lap 26 and an off from Charlie on lap 27 saw Brian sneak into the lead. They both had an off on 36 but Brian was marshalled slightly quicker than Charlie and he managed to hold on to his second place as time ran out. A great finish to the night’s racing with Brian’s total of 38.92 only 10 parts ahead of Charlie’s 38.82 - great stuff. Oh - Bob took the win with a near perfect run of 40.42 with just one off spoiling his chance of challenging his own record total.
